Step by Step: The Brushed Titanium Process
Our Brushed Titanium finish is one of our most popular — and most labor-intensive — options. It begins with a thorough cleaning and degreasing of the machined wheel to remove all cutting fluids and contaminants. Any residue at this stage will compromise the entire finish.
Next comes the brushing itself. Each spoke, the barrel, and the lip are individually hand-brushed using progressively finer abrasives under carefully controlled pressure. The goal is a consistent, uniform grain pattern that follows the contours of the wheel — a result that cannot be achieved by machine alone.
After brushing, the wheel undergoes a multi-stage chemical treatment to prepare the surface for coating. A tinted clear coat is applied in a dust-controlled environment, then baked at precisely controlled temperatures to achieve the signature warm titanium hue. A final clear protective coat seals the finish.
Quality Control
Every Brushed Titanium wheel is inspected under calibrated lighting by a senior finisher with a minimum of five years of experience. They check for consistency of the brushed grain, uniformity of the tint, absence of any contaminants in the clear coat, and proper coverage of all surfaces — including the inner barrel, which is often overlooked by mass-production finishing operations.
The rejection rate for our Brushed Titanium finish runs around 8% — wheels that don't meet our standards are completely stripped and re-finished. It's expensive, but it's the only way to guarantee that every wheel wearing this finish looks as good as the one in our showroom.
